Aura Apparel was severely restricted by a monolithic Shopify architecture. Mobile conversion was bleeding out due to 4+ second load times and a clunky checkout journey.

Boutique E-Commerce

01 / The Bottleneck

Fundamental Friction

The client’s previous Shopify Liquid theme was bloated with third-party apps, redundant JavaScript, and unoptimized imagery. This monolithic approach meant that every page request hit the servers to render, resulting in Time to First Byte (TTFB) spikes of over 1.2s. Furthermore, their inventory management was deeply un-synced across physical and digital stores, leading to frequent overselling and massive customer service friction.

02 / The Architecture

Bespoke Engineering

We architected a fully decoupled headless storefront. By utilizing Next.js App Router for server-side component rendering and static site generation, we shifted the compute heavy-lifting to the build step and the CDN edge. We integrated Shopify’s Storefront API via GraphQL to handle the cart mutating operations. A secondary custom Redis caching layer was built to intercept product inventory queries, synchronizing in real-time with their POS system.
